Biedenkopf is located in the Upper Lahn Valley - in one of the most beautiful central mountain landscapes of Hessen. Biedenkopf is the "mother" town of eight surrounding villages: Breidenstein, Dexbach, Eckelshausen, Engelbach, Katzenbach, Kombach, Wallau and Weifenbach. Biedenkopf has a population of 7,500 people. Combined population of Biedenkopf and the surrounding villages is 15,000 people. Many Engelbachs are from this area. The Park Hotel in Biedenkopf hosted the Engelbach World-Wide Reunion in July of 1999.
