PREPARATION TIME:
5 minutes
COOKING TIME:
20 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
15 heaping tablespoons of sugar
3 heaping tablespoons of cocoa
1 heaping tablespoon of powdered milk
1/2 cup water
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all ingredients.
Bring to soft ball stage by boiling.
Take off stove.
Stir in 1 tablespoon oleo and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour into greased pan.
Let cool and cut.

This recipe was a favorite of my father, Hermann Friedrich Engelbach, MD on
canoe trips into the Ontario and Minnesota wilderness areas.
He began canoeing in 1927 at the age of 24 and took his last canoe trip in
1976.
Hermann Friedrich Engelbach was born on 15 May 1903 in Arenzville, Illinois. He died on 27 July 1982 in Jacksonville, Illinois.
